Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain says his impressive early-season form is a result of his new mindset "to go for everything”.
The England midfielder followed his opening-day strike against Liverpool with a well-taken goal against Nottingham Forest, and has credited his success with a slight change in mentality for 2016/17.
“I turned 23 the other day and I know I need to push on,” Oxlade-Chamberlain told the Arsenal Weekly podcast. “That’s what I’m going to be looking to do. My mindset now is just to go for everything.
“I’ve always had that but now, in myself, I know what I want to do and what I have to do. I’m more clinical about how to go about that, both mentally and also when I get the opportunities. You almost have to be like a killer in your approach.
“As I’ve grown up and matured, I think that now I’m in a place in my mind where I know what I need to do and I either do it or I don’t. It’s as simple as that. I’m just focused on making sure I do it.”
