‘Zlatan absence doesn’t weaken PSG’

Two years ago this week Hector Bellerin made his Champions League debut at Borussia Dortmund - a baptism of fire for the then teenage right back.

Now one of Europe’s most exciting young players, Bellerin will line up against another multi-talented team on Tuesday night when we face Paris Saint-Germain.

One man the Spain international won’t need to worry about is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who left PSG for Manchester United in the summer. But Bellerin doesn’t think that makes Arsenal’s opponents any weaker.

“I think that, as a club, they have loads of good players,” he said. “I don't think it affects them at all.

“They have really strong front three at the moment, and anyone they play up front will be dangerous. We will face it as we would have done if he was playing. The team are up for it.”

Angel di Maria is one of the “strong front three” and Bellerin played against him when we beat Manchester United in the FA Cup in 2014.

“I remember that game,” he said. “He was playing on the other side – I was up against Ashley Young. But we know he's tricky, has a good left foot, and he will be difficult to defend against. But we've played a lot of top players. Whoever is up against him will be ready.”
