'It’s good to say something and do it’

"It's all about having fun for a good cause. That said, I reckon I could score three goals!”

Kanu didn’t hold back when he made his predictions ahead of Saturday’s match against Milan Glorie - and the Arsenal legend was true to his word.

The Nigerian star caught up with Arsenal.com after the game to reflect on a memorable day on and off the pitch.

on the experience…
It was a wonderful one. The most important thing was to support The Arsenal Foundation and I believe we achieved that.

on his emotions…
It was so special. It has been so long. The good thing is that they [the fans] always give you a cheer when you need it. When they show you love, you show them love.

on looking good on the pitch…
It was. AC Milan are a very big team, and we had to make sure the fans enjoyed it and Arsenal won. It was important to win.

on the standard…
We thought it was was something we could just come here to do and chill out and relax but that is not the way it turned out. It turns out everyone wants to win - they wanted to win and we wanted to win and I thought we had the upper hand.

on predicting his hat-trick…
It is always a good thing to say something and do it. When I said it, I had a feeling I was going to do it. Luckily it happened, so it is so special.
