Kolo Toure says it was “really important” to him to be able to play in front of the Arsenal fans with his former team-mates.
The Celtic defender played the full 90 minutes of Arsenal Legends’ 4-2 win against Milan Glorie on Saturday, and was delighted to be able to make his Gunners return in front of a sellout Emirates Stadium.

“It was very important for me to be here,” he said. “It’s true that I keep playing for Celtic but when I had the chance from the club to come and play with my old teammates, for me it was really, really important.
“Just to see the fans here, I started in Arsenal and I don’t think I would’ve made the career that I’ve made without Arsenal.
“For me, it was really, really important for me to come back here and see the fans, play with my old friends and play with the manager, Arsene Wenger - one of the best managers in the world, for me. I’m so happy to be here.”
