The 20-year-old central defender played the full 90 minutes of the win over the MLS All-Stars, less than a week after completing his transfer from Boton Wanderers.
"I thought he did very well," the manager told Arsenal Player after the 2-1 victory. "I must say he looked composed, mastered the pressure well, wasn't nervous and he reads the game very well.
"I think it's very interesting to see that such a young boy like him can cope with a game like that."
Holding was the only Arsenal player to play the whole match, which was won by Chuba Akpom's late strike.
"I didn't want to go to penalties," Wenger added. "We play to win, and even in pre-season we want to accumulate confidence and think that we can keep going. Overall I think we scored a very good goal [to win it]."
The Gunners will complete their US tour with a game against Mexican side Chivas on Sunday in Los Angeles.
