Arsenal Ladies FA Cup Final Mascot

Junior Gunner Lilly

On Saturday, May 14, Arsenal Ladies were triumphant over Chelsea Ladies with a brilliant goal from Danielle Carter securing the team the FA Cup! The Ladies were well represented by the Arsenal fans and it proved to be a fun family atmosphere.

Junior Gunner Lilly, won the chance to be the Arsenal Ladies mascot and did us proud fulfilling her duties at Wembley Stadium. Lilly was thrilled to be paired up with Arsenal Ladies captain Alex Scott, as she got the chance to go into the team’s dressing room, and lead the team out onto the pitch, ahead of kick off.

As a part of her prize Lilly received some tickets for her family to join her in watching the match following her mascot duties. Lilly’s dad Stuart let us know that Lilly was just beaming from ear to ear as she went to sit with her family. Stuart said; ‘Lilly couldn’t stop smiling as the Arsenal Ladies high fived her on their way up to collect the trophy.  Once on the balcony, Danielle Carter looked at Lilly and waved to her and then shouted “thank you” for being a mascot. Lilly said “that has really made my day”!’

It sounds as though Lilly had a blast on Saturday, which was of course made even better by the big win. Check out some of the photos Lilly shared with us of her day at Wembley!
