Petr Cech spoke to the media after Arsenal's 1-0 win against Norwich at Emirates Stadium. Below is a transcript of what was said:
on the game…
It was a very difficult game for us because they have been absolutely brilliant for a long period of time. They defended very well and very compact. When they had the ball they were dangerous on the counter attacks. We had to be alert and we had to be patient. It took a while to break through and because of our persistence and patience, we managed to get a goal which was vital for us.
on Norwich fighting for their lives…
Any game in the Premier League is difficult because every team is well prepared and we needed to be on top to win. It was no different today, and as I said they were absolutly brilliant for a long period of time and we are happy we managed to find a way through them and get three points. The way we were patient and searched for the goal, we deserved to win.
on his saves…
It was important. They had been doing so well, and had they gone 1-0 up, it would have been more difficult for us. That game was decided by one goal, and keeping a clean sheet was vital.
on facing Man City next…
It is a big game. This is the kind of game you always want to be involved in. In big finals and big games you play your main rivals for a win. Hopefully we will be ready and we will get ahead.
