Steve Gatting says Arsenal Under-21s' performance against Fulham was “some of the best football” they have played this season.
The Gunners eased to a 3-0 victory at Motspur Park thanks to goals from Kaylen Hinds, Stephy Mavididi and Marc Bola in the first half.
"We’re near the top of the league, we’re still in the Youth Cup and we’re coming to the business end of the season where things are won or lost"
Gatting was impressed with how his side coped against an experienced Fulham team and extended their unbeaten run to seven games.
“It was very pleasing indeed,” he told Arsenal Player. “I thought the first 45 minutes was some of the best football we have played this season.
“There were difficult circumstances as they are a decent side, but our tempo was good and we got the ball back quickly and created chances. We remained positive, broke well and could have had another in the second half.
“The boys played with a lot of desire and I think it probably helped that it was on the back of the Youth Cup win because it is a similar team and the boys are on the front foot at the moment.
"We’re near the top of the league, we’re still in the Youth Cup and we’re coming to the business end of the season where things are won or lost. If we keep playing like we did here then we will be near the top of the league, but we need to keep it going game by game."
