Campbell - Olympiacos spell may help

Joel Campbell says there are similarities between his experience on loan at Olympiacos to this season’s title race.

The Costa Rica international spent a year in Athens in 2013/14, impressing with some fine displays as they won the Superleague Greece.

Campbell hopes to play a key role in this term’s Premier League run-in, with the Gunners two points off top spot with 12 games remaining.

“We have many chances with this team but it is a very tight fight at the top of the table,” he told Arsenal Player.

“We are just focused on our work, go from match to match and we hope to become champions.

“I don’t know [how important my Olympiacos experience can be]. Greece is a different competition from the Premier League

“Olympiacos were the team to beat in Greece, so in every match we had to go out to win it. Arsenal is a candidate for the title here and we have to win every game too, that pressure is always there.

“But we are Arsenal, we are a big team and we are used to it.”
