‘This team has a brilliant future'

Pedro Martinez Losa

By Lloyd Webb

Pedro Martinez Losa believes his Arsenal Ladies side has a “brilliant future” ahead of them.

The Gunners ended their pre-season tour of Spain with a 3-1 win against Bayern Munich, as new signings Danielle Van de Donk, Fara Williams and Katie McCabe all made their debuts.

Losa is keen to take away the positives from the squad's time in Seville and says they are heading in the right direction.

"The players are willing to work for each other which is the main principle in football"

“We have to go little by little,” he told Arsenal.com. "The objective is to play good football, get the team feeling comfortable and have a clear idea of the dynamic in the team. It is really important to go game by game - you win the league by doing that.

"The fans will support us massively and the league is the key to competing in the Champions League. The improvement for this year will to at least be in the Champions League and in a better position in the league and fight for the FA Cup.

“Beating a team like Bayern Munich, who are a top team in Europe, I think we will take a lot of positives from the individuals, from the fans and from the preparations. There is a lot of faith and belief for the future. We are going in the right direction, which is a good feeling. I think mainly it is down to the fantastic vibe in the group.

“The players are willing to work for each other which is the main principle in football. After that the staff have to do their part and keep the team organised and try to give the team identity - the Arsenal way - but also put the players in the right stance to perform. This team can have a brilliant and bright future.”
