Arsene Wenger says Arsenal underlined their credentials during the festive period.
Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Alexis all suffered setbacks ahead of the congested Christmas fixture list, yet the Gunners managed to finish 2015 on top of the table after claiming 15 points from a possible 18.
Wenger is pleased with the way his squad performed without some of their key players and says it speaks volumes for their character and spirit.
“We lost Cazorla and Coquelin, who are just as important as Alexis,” the manager said. “[It was] Important that we showed we can cope with that.
“We showed that we coped very well [in this period].
"We scored goals and a showed very united, collective spirit. That’s what we want to maintain."
