Wenger - I'm proud of charity matchday

Arsene Wenger says he is very proud to be part of Arsenal’s “special” charity matchday.

Last year's event raised more than £200,000 for The Arsenal Foundation and the Gunners will dedicate their Premier League fixture against Manchester City to the same worthy causes.

Wenger and Arsenal’s first-team squad will donate a day's wages, and there will be a range of fundraising initiatives for supporters at Emirates Stadium.

“We all love Arsenal and we are very proud to have that power of influencing people’s lives in a positive way,” Wenger told Arsenal Player.

“For me and for all the players, all the staff and everybody involved at Arsenal, it’s always a very special day. We feel good on the day because we feel we do something which is helpful and football is very important for that.”
