on Ozil…
I believe that we play a big game tomorrow and what we want is for Ozil just to be on the continuity of the performances he’s made until now.

on Ozil’s form…

I think he’s developed himself well and has won a lot of self-belief. The World Cup probably helped him too. Now he’s being recognised in England. Even in Germany, there was always a bit of doubt. For me he’s a super player, a big player and he has positively developed. He’s very intelligent and has worked really hard. I think he’s at the best age now, where you know the job, know what’s expected. I think between 27 and 32 is the best age for a player.

on the importance of the game…
The defeat would put us in a very bad position which is why we don’t want to lose the game. We would still have a chance [if we lost] but it would diminish our chances to qualify. The best way is to not get in that position and to take points tomorrow night.

on Bayern memories…
We have had good results here and positive memories. We had all these difficult games and it is always interesting with Bayern Munich. I have good memories here as I have met Bayern here, I know Franz Beckenbauer, Rummenigge, Hoeness for 30 years basically. What I like is at Bayern, we spoke about the birthday of Gerd Muller

and I know the period where Gerd Muller and Beckenbauer played. I would like to wish him [Muller] happy birthday today, as I know that he is not at his best but he was hugely influential here. What I think Bayern have done very well is that this group of players have ruled the club after their success and that has led to the club to be in a fantastic state, so this generation deserves huge credit for what they have done.

Coquelin on what it is like to play Bayern…
Obviously it is always going to be a difficult game because they were really tough in the first game, I thought they played really well. We need to, as the boss said, beat a great team. We need to get the points and we now we need to get the points against the big team of our group and that is Bayern. So we hope we can produce more like we did in the first game and try to get something out of it.

Coquelin on Arsenal’s first two Champions League games…
Well, I think everyone was hoping for a good start and I think we need to get the points back somewhere else and that is against Bayern. We want to take points and it is going to be tough but we are going to go for it and the team is ready.
