Arsene Wenger says Mathieu Flamini “showed his frustration in a positive way” in Wednesday’s north London derby.
The 31-year-old excelled at White Hart Lane, scoring both goals to help Arsenal reach the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.
Flamini made his first appearance of the season at White Hart Lane, and the boss is pleased with how emphatically the French midfielder took his chance to impress.
“Mathieu Flamini has been frustrated about not playing enough games and he has shown what character and winning is all about,” Wenger said. “He went out there and showed his frustration in a positive way.
“I told him at the start of the season he might not get the games but if you decide to stay and fight then I’m happy with that and that is what he decided to do. He does it in a strong way.
“It is a possibility [that he will play at Leicester], I have to see how everyone has recovered. It will be a late decision for me, certainly tomorrow morning.”
