Calum Chambers says the Arsenal squad are “really excited”about this year’s Champions League.
The Gunners have been drawn alongside Bayern Munich, Olympiacos and Dinamo Zagreb in Group F, and face the Croatian champions in their first match.
Chambers feels starting with a victory will be vital if Arsène Wenger’s side are to top the group.
"t’s a different style of football from the Premier League, so you have to adapt to that"
“I think every game is important in the Champions League and the Premier League,” he told Arsenal Player. “If you win the first game, it always stands you in good stead for the rest of the games coming.
“The first game is very important to win to give you as much hope as possible.
“It’s a different style of football from the Premier League, so you have to adapt to that. We’re all really excited for it, we’re up for it and we want to do well in the competition this year.
“You always want to aspire to do as well as you can. If we manage to finish top of the group, that would be really good.”
