Pedro Martinez Losa has hailed Arsenal Ladies’ professionalism after their 4-0 win against Millwall Lionesses in the Continental Cup.
The Gunners had already secured a quarter-final place before Sunday’s game but confirmed their place at the top of the group with an impressive three points at the Den.
Losa was able to field a strong team against Millwall and he was pleased with how Arsenal remained focused against the Women’s Super League Division Two side.
"When you play a team like Millwall it is not easy for us as we have to bring a level of concentration"
“I think that is one of the toughest games that we won,” the manager told Arsenal.com. “We need to go step by step. When you play a team like Millwall it is not easy for us as we have to bring a level of concentration.
“I think the guys are showing good professionalism and getting a result which is important in a game where you’re qualified and can sometimes look like it is not important for us.
“It is always important as it was important to play good football as always and was a chance to give opportunities to the players.”
Rachel Yankey claimed a goal and two assists on her fourth start of the season, and Losa was impressed with how the England forward returned to form against Millwall.
“Rachel is obviously a player who is at a top level and she has been having a difficult season recovering from injury,” the manager said.
“We are now finding a way of making her compete so scoring a goal with a free-kick and assisting is probably making her have more confidence and that is helping us.”
