Alex Scott believes there are plenty more twists and turns to come in the Women’s Super League title race.
With Arsenal Ladies sitting just two points off leaders Chelsea, the English international is confident all is not lost after Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to Manchester City.
"There’s going to be plenty more twists and turns, people are going to take points off other teams so we are still in with a shout"
“It’s about our mentality now - you know the league is still not lost and there’s going to be twists and turns so it’s about not feeling sorry for ourselves,” she told Arsenal.com.
“We are Arsenal Ladies and we want to win silverware so we will regroup and forget about this one and move on to the next game, which is a big one against Chelsea.
“You can’t give up, you can’t throw in the towel. Like I said, there’s going to be plenty more twists and turns, people are going to take points off other teams so we are still in with a shout.
“Our tradition, our history is about winning and that’s what we need to teach all the youngsters coming through. We need youngsters coming through with that passion, that desire, that want to play for Arsenal, so when someone else isn’t doing their job you have got someone else kicking at their heels wanting to be on that pitch.”
