Carla Humphrey has revealed how much she enjoys playing alongside Natalia Pablos Sanchon.
Arsenal Ladies were trailing against London Bees at half-time on Wednesday but Humphrey equalised before Natalia struck twice to complete an impressive comeback.
Humphrey set up the Spain forward’s second goal, and the 18-year-old says that their strong link-up play is a result of the hard work they put in on the training ground.
"We try to do lots of combination play in training and you can see that it works in the games"
“We work a lot on combinations so a lot of the time I know where Natalia is going to be,” she told Arsenal.com. “We have a good relationship and Marta was also a big influence on the game when she came on at half-time.
“We try to do lots of combination play in training and you can see that it works in the games. Hopefully it will continue to help us push forward as a team.”
Humphrey was one of the most experienced players in Wednesday’s starting line-up and the teenager was delighted to see Centre of Excellence players Georgia Allen, Rianna Dean, Charlie Devlin and Ciara Ritchie-Williams make their first starts for Arsenal.
“It was lovely for them,” she said. “I know how that feels and it’s a really proud moment that you have after you work so hard as a youngster, to come through and get given the opportunity.
“It’s great. They’ve been training with the first team a fair bit and Pedro’s philosophy at the club is to bring young players through so it’s the perfect place for us all to be.”
