For Chloe Kelly, it is all about confidence. Making your full first-team debut can be daunting but the teenager believes she can grow in self-assurance and push on after scoring her first goal.
Kelly also feels that the players she has behind her play a big part in her performances and that a mixture of experience and youth can make Arsenal Ladies a real favourite to win the Continental Cup competition.
She further added how it was a relief to hit the back of the net for the first time, having had an earlier chance in the cup game against Watford Ladies cleared off the line.
"Once I score I get a bit more confidence and we will see what happens from there"
“It was great,” Kelly told Arsenal.com. “I was a bit nervous at the start going into the game.
“I grew in confidence with the players behind me and it helped me. Once I score I get a bit more confidence and we will see what happens from there.
“We needed a good start as you need a boundary to set off at and we can’t go lower than that. If we play how we play we have a good chance.
“If the young players combine well with the experienced players then we have a good chance.”
