Petr Cech says he is looking forward to working with Arsène Wenger because he shares his new manager's passion to succeed.
The Czech Republic international has publicly stated that speaking to the Arsenal boss had a big influence on his decision to sign for the club.
"When I spoke with him it was very important for me to know that I see things in pretty much the same way"
Cech says he admires Wenger’s longevity and is looking forward to working with him.
"You have to admire his consistency, the calibre of his work [and] what he has done since he came to Arsenal,” Cech said.
"He is valued at Arsenal for the right reasons. Being in his position for such a long time is very rare, you saw it at Manchester United [with Sir Alex Ferguson] and at Arsenal but you don’t really see it anywhere else.
“When I spoke with him it was very important for me to know that I see things in pretty much the same way, with the desire to improve and to get better and to win things.”
