‘Every day you learn about yourself’

Calum Chambers believes his first season at Arsenal has made him an even better player.

The 20-year-old joined from Southampton last summer and made 28 appearances in his debut campaign, scoring his first goal and winning three caps for England in the process.

Chambers is pleased with the strides forward he has made, and says he has learnt a great deal since his arrival in north London.

"I have been involved in a lot of big games, the Champions League and also internationally so that has given me more experience than I had before"

“I wanted to come here and prove to everyone that I was good enough and had the quality to play at a team like Arsenal,” he told Arsenal Player.

“Every day is a test, every day you learn a bit more about yourself and the players you’re playing with, and that’s the best way you can improve. I think the training here is going to improve everyone each day.

“I’ve played a lot of games and that has improved my game a lot. I have been involved in a lot of big games, the Champions League and also internationally so that has given me more experience than I had before.

“If you analyse yourself you can always improve on things by one or two per cent, or 10 or 20 per cent. I just watch games back and if an aspect of that game didn’t go right I will look at it during the week and see how I can improve on it.”
