Arsene Wenger believes Hector Bellerin’s personality has helped him settle into the first-team squad.
The 19-year-old had only played one game for Arsenal before the start of the season but has become a regular since then, featuring 17 times and scoring twice.
Bellerin’s impressive form also resulted in a first appearance for Spain Under-21s and Wenger says the defender can be proud of his first full season for the Gunners.
"Bellerin came at the age of 16, so I consider him as a real Arsenal player"
“I’m surprised how quickly he has settled in and that’s down to personality,” the manager said.
“I’m convinced that he has adapted very well. He had some difficult starts, at Borussia Dortmund, but he has recovered very well and has improved permanently.
“He and Calum Chambers are only 20 years old now and they have both had outstanding first seasons seasons together. Bellerin came at the age of 16, so I consider him as a real Arsenal player.”
