Hector Bellerin says Arsenal want to make amends for November’s defeat to Manchester United when they face their old rivals in the FA Cup.
The Gunners had 61 per cent possession and 23 shots in the last meeting at Emirates Stadium, but United left north London with three points after scoring twice from their only two attempts on target.
Bellerin and his team-mates are determined to put things right on Monday night.
"These games are the big proof. That’s when you show the real character and quality in the players"
“You always want to get revenge against teams when they beat you,” the defender told Arsenal.com.
“It doesn’t matter whether you had the ball or whether you deserved it, you always want to win, especially when you know they’ve beaten you before. We just want to get our revenge the best way we can.
“These games are the big proof. That’s when you show the real character and quality in the players, so we’re really excited to face Manchester United at Old Trafford.”
Bellerin helped Arsenal to a memorable victory at Eithad Stadium in January and he believes that will give the Gunners confidence.
“That was the first time after a few games that we’ve beaten a big team away, so it was a big confidence boost for us and I think if we can do things the same way, we can get a good result at Old Trafford as well,” he said.
