on the performance…
I thought it was a very interesting game. For the spectators, they had the chance to see two different styles. I think we dominated the game in some areas but we were not

effective in front of goal and the opponent was exactly the opposite. They started very well, scored a goal quickly and they felt comfortable very early in the game. They defended well, they were aggressive in their defending and organised. It was difficult for us. Though I think if we had scored a goal the situation would have been different. My players gave an incredible effort. I can't say anything to them because they gave everything on the pitch.

on Sao Jose…
We knew the opponent well, we had studied their videos. We knew the game was going to be hard. It was difficult to concede the goal so early. We had wanted in the first 15 minutes to play with high pressure on the opponent and put them in an uncomfortable situation but after that goal I don't think we were comfortable in the first minutes. At the end of the first half I think we were finding our style of football again. During half-time we spoke about how can score a goal, how we can make big chances for ourselves, and we made some tactical variations. We started the second half and it was working better. In the last 20 minutes we decided to go with two strikers and play a 4-4-2 to try to put their defenders in a difficult situation. Things were happening but we were not effective in front of goal today. That's football.

on the experience of the tournament…
Well first we brought with us some players who are very young. We had Leah Williamson on the pitch, who is 17, and Caroline Weir is 18. We have players who are very young and this was a fantastic experience for them. We also have a group of very professional senior players who have experience and it was good for them too I think.

on the visit to Japan as a whole…
Firstly I would like to say thank you to everyone for the fantastic hospitality we have received in this country. It's been one of the best experiences in our lives - not just in terms of the football. The fans, the organisers, the staff at the hotel and our camp have been fantastic. We have tried to respond to the expectations on the pitch and I want to congratulate my team because I think we competed at a fantastic level. I want to congratulate our opponents today too because they played very well. The tournament and our visit to Japan has been a great experience.
