Arsene Wenger has hailed Alexis Sanchez’s efficiency in front of goal and says it is indicative of his team’s finishing in the Champions League this season.
The Gunners had three shots on target against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night, with two of them finding the back of the net courtesy of Yaya Sanogo and Alexis.
Arsenal have now averaged a goal every four shots in Europe and one per seven in the Premier League - and Wenger says this accuracy is all part of his side’s game plan.
"He doesn't hit the stands, he hits the target"
“I think it’s because we prepare our attacks well and have the quality from our final ball as well with good finishers,” the boss told Arsenal Player.
“That explains why, and when you watch Alexis’ goal [you will see] it demands quality in your finishing.
"Just before he scored he had a great shot saved by Roman Weidenfeller. He doesn’t hit the stands, he hits the target.”
