Loan Watch: Toral grabs first goal

Every season a number of Arsenal players go out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience. With the 2014/15 campaign now underway, seven Gunners are currently away from the club.

Jon Toral played the final nine minutes and scored in Brentford’s 3-1 loss at Bolton. Neil Danns and Mark Davies gave the home side a second-half lead before Toral pulled one back two minutes after coming on. Craig Davies then scored in the 96th minute to put the game out of Brentford’s reach.

Carl Jenkinson played 90 minutes of West Ham’s 2-1 win against Manchester City. Morgan Amalfitano opened the scoring after being found by Enner Valencia and then Diafra Sakho doubled the score with 15 minutes remaining. David Silva pulled one back two minutes later but the Hammers held out for three points.

Ryo Miyaichi played 57 minutes of Twente’s 2-1 loss at Excelsior before being replaced by Kasper Kusk. Luc Castaignos gave Twente the lead after two minutes but Tom van Weert levelled before half-time. Jeff Stans then netted for the home side after the break to extend Twente’s winless streak to three games.

Kris Olsson was an unused substitute in Midtjylland’s 1-1 draw with Sonderjyske. Marvin Pourie opened the scoring for the home side but Marcos Urena equalised to maintain Midtjylland’s seven-point lead at the top of the Danish Superliga.
