'Alexis is a pleasure to play with'

Danny Welbeck says it is a “pleasure” to play alongside somebody as hardworking and determined as Alexis Sanchez.

Alexis’ brace on Saturday came from his own persistence after he stole the ball from Wes Brown and Vito Mannone and found the net on both occasions.

They were the Chilean’s seventh and eighth goals since joining Arsenal in the summer and Welbeck says the forward's finishes were a consequence of Arsene Wenger’s high-pressing game plan.

"He's persistent, he keeps going and they are the attributes of somebody I like to play alongside"

“The boss told us before the game to press their back four and try to force mistakes. The first goal came from that, so it was something that worked quite well today," Welbeck told Arsenal Player.

“It's a pleasure to play with Alexis. He's persistent, he keeps going and they are [the attributes of] somebody I like to play alongside.

“It's the same with all the other players in the team. I'm really getting to know the players much better now and hopefully now we can go on a nice run of winning games.

“We've had two away games and got two wins. We've set the platform now and the main thing is to build on that. We showed character and we're going to have to stick it out when it gets tough and nitty gritty in the next games.”
