Mathieu Debuchy has praised Calum Chambers’ potential as the teenager prepares to fill in for him as he recovers from injury.
The 29-year-old defender suffered a sprained ankle against Manchester City and will miss the Champions League opener against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.
Chambers has predominantly been used as a centre back at Arsenal, but made 22 appearances at right back for Southampton last season. Debuchy has been impressed with him and believes the best is yet to come.
"He is very talented and will bring a lot to Arsenal"
"Calum is a very good player, he is very young and has a great potential," Debuchy told Arsenal.com.
"He proved himself since the beginning of the season, when he performed very well.
