Benik Afobe scored his first MK Dons goal to help the League One side advance to the second round of the Capital One Cup. After Kyle McFadzean and Daniel Powell had put the hosts in control, Afobe capitalised on a defensive mix-up to run through and put the Dons 3-0 ahead after 76 minutes. Matt Tubbs netted a late consolation in the closing stages.

Austin Lipman got off the mark for Boreham Wood in this comprehensive victory for the early league leaders. Lipman scored the visitors' third at the start of the second half, after Lee Angol and Graeme Montgomery had struck before the break. That pair each added another goal late on and Matty Whichelow gave the result further gloss after 79 minutes.
