Thousands flocked to Emirates Stadium on Thursday to attend the annual Members' Day. Exclusively arranged for supporters all signed up to the Gunners’ membership scheme, the day started with the first-team squad being put through their paces by manager Arsène Wenger and his coaching staff.
The newest members of the squad, who joined this summer, were welcomed warmly by some 5,000 members watching on.
Alexis Sanchez in particular had a unique welcome, as supporters in the stands wore some face masks to look like the Chilean star.
Twenty very lucky members of the Junior Gunners got to dazzle players including Jack Wilshere, Olivier Giroud and Mikel Arteta when they took on the senior pros in a one of a kind match.
Before training came to a close some brave fans stepped onto the Emirates pitch to try and beat Calum Chambers, Gedion Zelalem and Mathieu Flamini among others at the Crossbar Challenge. Wojciech Szczesny and Mathieu Debuchy wheeled away in delight when they managed the trick first time.
Once pitchside activities were over, members got to take part in player Q&As up on Club Level, and a Legend Q&A with Pat Rice, Freddie Ljungberg and Martin Keown. Down on the lower concourse plenty of fun was had with a fast feet challenge, speed cage, bungee run and rebound reaction wall all to test how sharp supporters’ reactions are.
The day was capped off with supporters having the chance to have a picture taken with the FA Cup.
