Champions Reception

Arsenal Football Club recognised the achievements of three great sides, 25, 20 and 10 years on, with a special anniversary event at Emirates Stadium on Thursday, April 17.

George Graham’s 1989 Division One champions and 1994 Cup Winners’ Cup winners were celebrated, along with the 2003/04 'Invincibles' side.

Representatives from all three teams were at the Emirates to mark the shared milestone.

Michael Thomas, who secured the 1989 title for the Gunners with a last-minute strike at Anfield, was in attendance along with team-mates and manager George Graham. The family of club legend David Rocastle was also present.

Alan Smith, scorer of the winning goal against Parma in the 1994 Cup Winners’ Cup final, was at the stadium with Lee Dixon, Nigel Winterburn, Paul Davis, Steve Morrow and others.

Martin Keown and Edu were also present from the 'Invincibles' squad, alongside the team's assistant manager, Pat Rice.

Arsenal chairman, Sir Chips Keswick, said: “It was a privilege to be able to bring representatives of three great Arsenal teams together today at Emirates Stadium, to celebrate their achievements, and to thank them for their contribution to the club.”
