Loan Watch: Aneke scores again

Every season a number of Arsenal players go out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience. With the 2013/14 campaign now underway, 12 Gunners are currently away from the Club.

Damian Martinez was just minutes from keeping a clean sheet in Sheffield Wednesday's loss at Wigan. With the scores level after 88 minutes, Jordi Gomez converted a late penalty to boost the Latics' play-off hopes. Benik Afobe was an unused substitute.

Chuba Akpom missed Coventry's loss at Gillingham having helped Arsenal to the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup 24 hours earlier. Adebayo Akinfenwa's brace, plus goals courtesy of Myles Weston and Jake Hessenthaler, ensured the three points stayed at Priestfield, though Callum Wilson and Carl Baker did hit back for the Sky Blues.
