Matteo Guendouzi has joined Marseille on loan for the 2021/22 season.
The French under-21 international, joins the Ligue 1 side after spending 2020/21 in the German Bundesliga with Hertha Berlin, where he made 24 appearances during the campaign.
The 22-year-old started his career at Paris Saint-Germain’s academy before joining Lorient in 2014 and regularly represented his country at youth level from under-18s through to the under-21s.
Matteo joined us from French side Lorient in summer 2018, making 82 appearances for us across two seasons. The then 19-year-old went straight into the first-team squad in his debut season, featuring 48 times and playing a key role in our run to the 2019 Europa League final.
