Brazil are out of the 2024 Copa America at the quarter-final stage, following a penalty shootout loss to Uruguay.
Neither side were able to break the deadlock after 90 minutes and with no extra time in the tournament until the final, the match headed straight to penalties.
Gabriel Martinelli, who had been subbed onto the pitch mere minutes before, struck well from the spot to beat Sergio Rochet. However, earlier misses from Eder Militao and Douglas Luiz meant that Brazil missed out on a place in the semi-final.
Uruguay now go on to face Colombia on Wednesday evening.
Gabriel Magalhaes was an unused substitute in the tie.
