Having the opportunity to reach the UEFA Champions League final with Arsenal is a dream come true for Gabriel Martinelli, whose loving life in north London and can’t wait for the semi-final first leg at home to PSG.
“It’s going to be a big game, we’re really confident,” he said in his pre-match press conference on Monday. “We know the quality that we have. Of course it’s PSG, it’s an amazing team. The’ve got a really good side with great players, but we’re really confident, we trust ourselves to get the win.
“We had two great games against Real Madrid at home and away. We have huge respect for PSG but we’re ready. We’ve been working so hard this season and deserve to be here and go for it.
“It’s a dream to be here. Since I started to play football when I was five or six I had this dream to play in the Champions League and to be in the semi-final. I love to be here and the club has given me so much, not just on the pitch but off it as well. I’m really happy.
“It’s an opportunity for our lives. It’s a great game and everyone that loves football would love to be playing these kinds of games. We’re going to enjoy the moment.
"The club has never won this title and the club deserves to have it. It's one of the biggest clubs in the world and we're really happy to be involved in the final four. We're excited for the game and believe we can win it."
Alongside Bukayo Saka, Gabi got to taste what it was like to score at the Bernabeu in a quarter-final, and Martinelli was full of praise for his fellow winger.
“It’s amazing to have him in the team. He’s a brother to me, I love him. I think he’s one of the best players in the world right now. We’re lucky to have him here. We’ve been through so many things here at the club and I think we deserve to be living this moment right now to win something great.”
