On March 31, 2001 we lost David Rocastle at the age of 33.
Having joined the club as a 15-year-old, 'Rocky' progressed through our youth ranks to establish himself as a key member of the George Graham's first team.
Loved by Arsenal fans who saw him as 'one of our own', Rocastle was central to our title wins in 1989 and again in 1991.
He left to join Leeds United before spells at the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea - but he remains forever associated with us.
In February 2001, Rocastle announced he had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, an aggressive form of cancer, and tragically within two months he had died.
The news of his death came on this day 18 years ago, before our north London derby against Tottenham.
