Local school enjoy renovated playground

This week, Gunnersaurus helped Highbury Quadrant School celebrate the opening of their all-new climbing wall and playground, which was funded by The Arsenal Foundation.

The school was also presented with a framed and personalised shirt, worn by one of our players in the warm-up for a recent charity match held at Emirates Stadium.

Our relationship with Highbury Quadrant School, along with many others in the borough, goes back a long way. We have provided Arsenal Double Club sessions, which help children with their numeracy and literacy learning. The new playground will now provide a safe facility for Arsenal in the Community coaches to run football sessions.

The playground is one of many local surfaces being refurbished off the back of our Legends game against Milan Glorie at Emirates Stadium last September, which helped to raise £1m for The Arsenal Foundation.

Gunnersaurus also had a go at climbing the brand-new wall

The money from the game is being used to build football pitches and to help renovate playgrounds for schools and community groups across north London. It will also fund the construction of new playing surfaces for children in Somalia and Jordan with our global charity.
