Loan Watch: Tavares leads Serie A assist charts

Nuno assists

Nuno Tavares has the most assists in Serie A (four) so far this season after providing for former Gunner Matteo Guendouzi on Sunday.

He played 68 minutes and left-back and crossed for the opening goal of Lazio’s 3-2 win away to Torino.

Boulaye Die made it 2-0 before Che Adams pulled one back, but the two-goal lead was restored by Tijjani Noslin in the 89th minute. Saul Coco’s 92nd minute strike for Torino was too little, too late. Lazio are seventh in Serie A with 10 points from six games, one point behind Torino.

In the Premier League, Reiss Nelson came on in the 69th minute of Fulham’s 1-0 win away to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, replacing Adama Traore. Raul Jimenez’s 51st minute penalty was enough to separate the sides at City Ground. Marco Silva’s side are sixth in the division with 11 points from their first six games.

Overseas, Fabio Vieira made his debut for FC Porto on Sunday, coming on in the 69th minute of a 4-0 win at home to Arouca. Goals from Samu Omorodion, Nico Gonzalez, Galeno and Deniz Gil put Porto second in Liga Portugal, three points shy of leaders Sporting Lisbon

Elsewhere, Real Valladolid lost 2-1 away to Sevilla on Tuesday, before losing 2-1 at home to Mallorca on Friday. Karl Hein played in goal for both games, which left Valladolid 19th in La Liga with five points from eight matches.

Marquinhos came on in the 71st minute of Fluminense’s 1-0 defeat away to Atletico Goianiense on Sunday. They are on 27 points, in the relegation zone in Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A with 27 games played.

Charles Sagoe Jr was in Football League action for Shrewsbury Town last week, playing 65 minutes of their 1-1 draw at home to Rotherham United on Saturday. George Lloyd opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, but Jonson Clarke-Harris’ 70th minute penalty left Shrewsbury 23rd in League One with four points from eight games.

Jack Henry-Francis returned from suspension and played 90 minutes, helping Sligo Rovers keep a clean sheet in Friday’s 0-0 draw away to league leaders Shelbourne. Sligo are fifth in the League of Ireland Premier Division with 47 points from 32 games.

In women’s football Michelle Agyemang, came on in the 57th minute of Brighton & Hove Albion’s 1-0 defeat away to Manchester City on Sunday. Khadija Shaw’s goal on the brink of half-time was enough to secure the three points for City, leaving the Seagulls mid-table with one win and one defeat.

As for Teyah Goldie, she played the full 90 minutes of London City Lionesses’ 1-0 loss away to Sunderland. They’re now seventh in the Barclays Women’s Championship after Natasha Fenton’s 58th-minute winner.
