Loan watch: Smith Rowe stars in win

Six of our loan players were in action for their loan clubs over the weekend.

Scroll down to find out how they got on.

Emile Smith Rowe’s impressive start with Huddersfield Town continued on Saturday, as he played the entirety of their 2-0 win over QPR.

Elias Kachunga opened the scoring with a header from close range, before Steve Mounie doubled their advantage from the spot in the second half.

Smith Rowe created two chances on the day, and of those who started the match, he had the highest pass completion rate (87.5 per cent).

Henrikh Mkhitaryan made his return from injury for Roma on Friday night, playing the entirety of their 3-2 home loss to Bologna.

The 29-year-old started in the No 10 position and scored their second of the night, but it was nothing more than a consolation goal, following Riccardo Orsolini’s opener and a brace from Musa Barrow.

Konstantinos Mavropanos delivered another stellar defensive performance on Saturday, guiding Nurnberg to a hard-fought 1-0 win over Vfl Osnabruck.

The hosts dominated the game and eventually broke the deadlock on the hour-mark through Hanno Behrens, pushing them up to 13th in the 2. Bundesliga table.

Mohamed Elneny starred in midfield as Besiktas cruised to a 3-0 win over Gaziantep on Saturday.

Burak Yilmaz, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Jermain Lens were the names on the scoresheet, but Elneny provided the base for such an attacking performance, making two tackles, two clearances and one interception.

William Saliba endured a frustrating afternoon in Ligue 1 on Sunday, as Saint-Etienne were beaten 1-0 by Montpellier.

The hosts made the perfect start when they took the lead through Andy Delort, but they were dealt a blow on the stroke of half-time, with Junior Sambia being shown a straight red card.

Saint-Etienne pushed on in search of an equaliser, but despite having a one-man advantage for the entirety of the second half, were unable to find a way past the home side.

Dejan Iliev was on the receiving end of a 3-0 defeat on Saturday as Jagiellonia were outclassed by Wisla Krakow on the road.

Alon Turgeman opened the scoring in the 28th minute, before Kamil Wotjowski and Aleksander Buksa found the back of the net in the second half.
