Ben Sheaf played 66 minutes as Coventry drew 1-1 with Birmingham in the Championship on Saturday. Jeremie Bela got the first goal of the game from the spot before Sheaf’s smart assist set up Gustavo Hamer to ensure the points were shared. The result means Coventry sit 17th in the table after 26 games.

Harry Clarke played the full match as Oldham beat Salford 2-1 at Boundary Park in League Two. Ian Henderson gave Salford the lead after just eight minutes following good work from Tom James to set-up the chance. Clarke’s side stuck back though, scoring twice in the final 15 minutes through Dylan Bahamboula and Davis Keillor-Dunn to take all three points.
Mark McGuinness completed 90 minutes for the ninth game in a row as Ipswich drew 1-1 with Crewe at the Alexandra Stadium. Charlie Kirk gave the hosts the lead on the hour mark before Aaron Drinan levelled the game with 15 minutes to play. McGuinness then did well to marshal his defence late on after an 82nd-minute Teddy Bishop red card made things difficult for the visitors.
William Saliba played the full match as Nice lost 1-0 to St Etienne on Sunday. Our French defender was seeking back-to-back clean sheets in Ligue 1, but was undone in the closing stages by a late Charles Abi strike.

Elsewhere, Sead Kolasinac played the entire game on his return from injury as Schalke drew 1-1 with Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga. Our left-back’s side took the lead through Omar Mascarell before Kevin Mohwald hit back with 13 minutes to play.
Matteo Guendouzi fell to his third defeat in a row on Saturday as Hertha Berlin were beaten 3-1 by Frankfurt. Krzysztof Piatek opened the scoring for Hertha before Martin Hinteregger notched his first goal of the season in between Andre Silva’s second-half brace. Guendouzi was replaced in the 88th minute by Jessic Ngankam as the match drew to a close.

Lucas Torreira played 45 minutes as Atletico Madrid beat Cadiz 4-2 in La Liga on Sunday. Former Premier League striker Alvaro Negredo bagged a goal in each half for Cadiz, but it wasn’t enough to stop Atleti going 10 points clear at the top of the table. Diego Simeone’s side were in imperious form as goals from Saul, Koke and a brace from Luis Suarez capped off a fine away performance and secured all three points for the league leaders.
Dinos Mavropanos played 83 minutes as Stuttgart beat Mainz 2-0 in the Bundesliga. Sasa Kalajdzic and Silas Wamangituka both struck before Mavropanos was replaced by Atakan Karazor late on. The result leaves Stuttgart 10th in the league after 18 games.
