James Olayinka scored for Southend in their 1-1 draw against Mansfield in League Two this weekend.

Olayinka picked the ball up on the right touchline, played a quick one-two to beat his man and then fired the ball into the top-left corner from 25 yards.

Our 20-year-old midfielder was replaced in the 58th minute after picking up a knock before Mansfield levelled the scores late on through Nathaniel Jordan Bowery.

Daniel Ballard was also in action this weekend. Our Northern Ireland international returned to the Blackpool starting XI for the first time since December 1, after missing most of the month through injury.

Ballard, who has impressed during his loan spell, picked up his fourth clean sheet in his last five appearances under Neil Critchley as his side drew 0-0 with Accrington at the Crown Ground.

Matt Smith set-up a last-minute equaliser as Swindon drew 2-2 with Charlton on Saturday.

Diallang Jaiyesimi opened the scoring for Swindon before Omar Bogle and Chuks Aneke gave The Addicks the lead going into the closing stages.

With the game slipping away in the 90th minute, our 20-year-old midfielder provided his fourth assist of the season, picking out Brett Pitman from a corner.

Ben Sheaf played 82 minutes as Coventry were beaten 1-0 by Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship on Saturday. Tom Lees scored the only goal of the match in a result that leaves Sheaf's side 18th in the table after 20 games.

Harry Clarke played the full match as Oldham ran out 4-2 winners against leaders Newport in League Two.

Scott Twine opened the scoring for Newport before Davis Keillor-Dunn made it 1-1 after 14 minutes. Scott Bennett then restored Newport's lead before a flurry of second-half goals from Oldham secured the points. Conor McAleny, Alfie McCalmont and Zachary Dearnley were all on target in what was an exciting result for our young defender.

Tolaji Bola played 27 minutes as Rochdale were humbled 4-1 by Gillingham in League One.

Bola's side found themselves 4-0 down when he replaced Ethan Brierley in the 63rd minute. Goals from Robbie McKenzie, John Akinde, Connor Ogilvie and John Akinde put the game beyond all doubt before Eoghan O'Connell notched a late consolation.

Tyreece John-Jules played 23 minutes in Doncaster's 3-1 victory over Burton on Saturday after replacing Jon Taylor late on.

Fejiri Okenabirhie gave Doncaster the lead before Lucas Akins put Burton back on level terms from the spot. Benjamin Whiteman and Taylor Richards then made the game safe for Doncaster before the hour mark.

Matteo Guendouzi played the full match as Hertha Berlin were beaten 4-1 by Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday. Our French midfielder has impressed during his loan spell this term, but couldn't prevent Hertha from slipping to 14th in the table.

Vincenzo Grifo put Freiburg ahead inside 10 minutes before Dodi Lukebakio notched to make it 1-1 early in the second half. Guendouzi's side then conceded three times in 30 minutes as Ermedin Demirovic, Manuel Gulde and Nils Petersen all scored in the closing stages.
