Loan Watch: Nketiah scores first Championship goal

Nketiah

Three of our loan players have been in action over the past week. Scroll down to find out how they got on:

Eddie Nketiah scored his first Championship goal for Leeds United on Wednesday night, coming off the bench to secure a valuable 1-0 victory over Brentford at Elland Road.

It was a tightly-contested encounter that could have gone eitherway, until Nketiah was called into action in the 77th minute and broke the deadlock less than four minutes later. The 20-year-old timed his run into the box perfectly, latching onto a low pass from Helder Costa to fire home from close range and place Leeds top of the table.

Two days earlier Nketiah scored in a 3-2 win over Millwall in the Premier League 2.

Pascal Strujik opened the scoring for the Peacocks, before Nketiah was subbed on at half-time and doubled their advantage with an instinctive finish in the 56th minute.

George Alexander and Billy Mitchell then went on to score twice in quick succession, bringing the Lions level - but there was late drama, as Mateusz Bogusz’s deflected free-kick secured all three points with the last kick of the game.

Jordi Osei-Tutu played 15 minutes in VFL Bochum’s 1-0 away defeat to Hamburg on Friday.

The 20-year-old defender came on as a substitute in the 75th minute, but his side were already trailing, having conceded to Lukas Hinterseer on the hour mark.

Deyan Iliev played the entirety of SKF Sered’s 4-0 loss to Slovan Bratislava on Saturday.

Kenan Bajric and Artem Sukhotskyi gave the visitors a two-goal lead at the break, before Andraz Sporar and Rafael Ratao completed the scoring in the second half.
