Loan Watch: Nelson features in six-goal thriller

Five of our loan players were in action across the weekend. Read on to find out how they fared:

Reiss Nelson came on in the 70th minute for Hoffenheim on Saturday, as they bounced back from 3-0 down to claim a draw.

Goals from Jadon Sancho, Mario Gotze and Raphael Guerreiro handed the hosts a three-goal lead, but upon Nelson’s introduction, the tide turned with Ishak Belfodil pulling one back.

Pavel Kaderabek reduced the deficit even further less than five minutes later, before Belfodil equalised in the 87th minute.

Emiliano Martinez played the entirety of entirety of Reading’s 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, meaning he’s now kept back-to-back clean sheets in his first two games for the club.

Wednesday put the Royals defence under great pressure in spells, but Martinez was on hand to produce a number of fine saves.

Calum Chambers played 90 minutes as Fulham were beaten 3-0 by Manchester United on Saturday.

Paul Pogba opened the scoring in the 14th minute, before Anthony Martial doubled their advantaged with a brilliant solo goal shortly after. Pogba scored once more in the second half from the penalty spot.

Krystian Bielik played the entity of Charlton’s 1-1 draw with Southend United on Saturday.

Southend’s Stephen Humphry’s broke the deadlock in the first-half, before Ben Reeves equalised for the Addicks on the hour mark.

Elsewhere, Kelechi Nwakali was brought on in the 73rd minute as Porto B drew 3-3 with Academico Viseu, while David Ospina and Matt Macey were unused substitutes for Napoli and Plymouth Argyle respectively.

Takuma Asano and Emile Smith Rowe failed to feature for their loan clubs due to injury.
