Loan Watch: Akpom makes debut for Sint-Truiden

Chuba Akpom made his debut for Sint-Truiden, playing the final 15 minutes of their 2-0 home loss to Kortrijk, with both goals scored by Jeremy Perbet.

Lucas Perez played the entirety of Deportivo La Coruna’s 5-0 loss at Real Sociedad. Willian Jose gave the hosts, before strikes from Asier Illaramendi, Sergio Canales and Aritz Elustondo. Illaramendi rounded off the scoring in the 89th minute.

Julio Pleguezuelo played the full 90 minutes of Gimnastic’s 0-0 home draw with Cadiz.

Marc Bola was substituted in added time at the end of the second half of Bristol Rovers’ 2-1 defeat by Shrewsbury Town. Omar Beckles gave the Shrews the lead, before Joe Partington levelled for the Gasheads. Alex Rodman provided a late winner for Shrewsbury.

Cohen Bramall was introduced after 33 minutes as Birmingham City won 3-1at Sheffield Wednesday. David Davis gave the Blues the lead after just eight minutes, before Jota doubled the visitors’ advantage. Marco Matias was then shown a straight red card for the Owls. Jota struck again to send Birmingham in with a three-goal lead at the break. Lucas Joao pulled one back for the hosts in the second half, before Daniel Pudil was shown a second yellow, reducing the Wednesday to nine men.

Stephy Mavididi played for 69 minutes as Charlton lost 3-2 at home to Oxford United. Ahmed Kashi gave the Addicks the lead just after the hour mark, before Mavididi made way for Sullay Kaikai. James Henry levelled the scores, before Josh Magennis restored the hosts’ lead. Todd Kane equalised in the 89th minute, before a dramatic late winner courtesy of Ryan Ledson.

Kelechi Nwakali was substituted in the 73rd minute of Maastricht’s 1-0 loss at PSV II. Laros Duarte scored the game’s only goal.

Emi Martinez was an unused substitute as Getafe drew 0-0 with Leganes.

Carl Jenkinson, Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Joel Campbell, Takuma Asano, Tafari Moore, Kristian Bielik and Ben Sheaf did not feature for their loan clubs at the weekend.
