Little: "We need to turn our fate around"

After a narrow defeat to Chelsea at Emirates Stadium, Kim Little gave her reflections on the result.

"It's obviously disappointing for us, dropping three points," said our captain. "I think early doors in the game, we maybe weren’t switched on in the key moments; the set piece, one minute it goes in. You cannot give that away against a team like Chelsea. I guess that lost us the match."

"I think we came back into it well. We showed a lot of grit and resilience, and created some great chances. Caitlin [Foord] obviously scored a great goal and we fought to the end, but it wasn’t good enough today. So we need to move forward onto the next game so that we come out again and we’re better than we were today."

The Chelsea defeat comes off the back of a series of tough results, but our side is determined to turn the tide on Wednesday night in the Champions League.

"Leah spoke after the match and we said we stick together and we have to move on. We’ve lost again today and we don’t want that. We’re all still hurting with that.

"But the games come thick and fast, so we need to move on and turn our fate around from negativity, losing and dropping points into winning points and getting them [points] on the board. That’s what our focus will be on next week."

"It’s always incredible to play here at the Emirates on Wednesday and just thanks again to all our fans - we could hear them. We were doing our best out on the field. Hopefully, we will turn it around on Wednesday and we’ll get a win, start moving forward and getting positive results."
