Kim Little is here to stay.
The Scotland international captained us to our first Women’s Super League title in seven years last season - but she’s not done there.
We spoke to Little after signing her new deal and this is what she said:
on signing a contract extension…
Yeah, it obviously feels great. It’s great to be a part of this great and to commit my future here. I’m excited for the foreseeable future being here at Arsenal.
on whether this is just the beginning of our project…
Completely, I’m ambitious and this club is too. Winning the league last year was the starting point for that and just where the women’s game is going in general I think we’re ready to go with that and hopefully retain our title of the league and be in the Champions League and progress in that. It’s a really exciting time to be involved with the club.
on Joe Montemurro influencing her decision to stay…
Obviously Joe is a big part of that with his philosophy, and the way he is as a person and as a manager is something we as players are all appreciative of and grateful to be able to play under him. He was a huge part of my decision to extend and to be part of what he wants to do in the next few years in terms of where he wants to take the club. Also, Arsenal is where I’ve spent the majority of my professional career so I’m just extremely proud and grateful to be here and to be able to be a part of that for longer.
