Jorginho recently helped to carry out an Arsenal in the Community (Holiday Activities and Food) programme at one of our No More Red pitches, King’s Square in Islington.
He attended, engaged and joined in with the coaching session. At the end of the session he picked his player of the session, as well as giving every participant a signed football and bag.
The Positive Futures programme has been delivered in partnership with Islington Council for 20 years, offering free football sessions on six local estates every week. The activities offer a safe space for young people outside of school hours with our coaches acting as positive role models for participants who support the participants off the pitch.
The sessions are free of charge for young people aged eight to 16 and sees us engage over 500 young people per year. Throughout the summer, we have been delivering short courses on the estates where children can enjoy sessions between the hours of 10am and 3pm with children also being provided with a free lunch each day.
