Jordan Nobbs commits her future to the club

Jordan Nobbs

Jordan Nobbs has signed a new long-term contract.

The midfielder first joined us from Sunderland in 2010 and instantly made an impact in both European and early Women’s Super League matches.

Since then, Jordan has developed into a highly-respected senior member of the team. Throughout her Arsenal career, she has helped us to win two WSL titles, five Continental Cup trophies and four Women’s FA Cups.

Manager Joe Montemurro said: “We are all delighted that Jordan has chosen to secure her future with us. She’s an incredibly talented player and her work-rate is incomparable.

“This talent paired with her passion and commitment makes her a crucial part of our team both on and off the pitch. I’m excited to see how she develops further with us.”

'The players are really buying into this project'

Jordan Nobbs is the latest player to commit her future to this club since Joe Montemurro joined in November.

The England midfielder has been an integral part of our side and followed in Leah Williamson and Emma Mitchell’s footsteps by signing a new long-term deal on Wednesday.
The future is looking bright for Arsenal Women, and Nobbs credits that with the impact Montemurro’s had in his six months in charge.
“Since Joe has come in, he’s just been phenomenal,” Nobbs told Arsenal Player. “He’s changed our team, he’s changed our dynamics and he’s just put the simple fundamentals in place to just allow us to be free on the pitch. I think that’s shown all over.
“Our recent results have shown us on a good winning streak. We still know that we need to be better and I still want to win more trophies here, so we know we all need to dig a little bit harder.
“Right now, to be an Arsenal fan, I think we’re definitely in a great place and the fact that we’re keeping players on board shows how much they’re enjoying being at this club and working alongside Joe.
“There’s everything you could wish for at this club. The facilities are phenomenal and we get treated like professional footballers. That’s how we want it to be and hopefully anyone who comes to this club doesn’t want to leave because they’ve got everything that they can wish for.
“Not only that, you get to wear the Arsenal badge and there’s no greater feeling than putting on an Arsenal shirt and walking out for one of the best teams in the world.”

Nobbs - Arsenal has always been my dream club

Jordan Nobbs could not be happier.

The midfielder joined us as a teenager back in 2010 and has since gone on to score 51 goals in 169 first-team appearances, establishing herself as a regular England international in the process.
Nobbs was rewarded for her fine performances with a new long-term contract on Wednesday, and says there’s nowhere she’d rather be than Arsenal.
“It’s always been my dream club and the fact that I get to spend some more years here is the best feeling,” she told Arsenal Player.
“It’s been a long journey and when I signed at the age of 17, I wanted to improve myself as a player and I wanted that challenge. I came in as a nobody in front of players like Katie Chapman, Kim Little and Jayne Ludlow.
“Obviously I had to work hard to get my shirt but it was the best thing for me and the biggest challenge. It’s definitely got me to where I am today and I’m very grateful for everything I’ve had at this club. It’s definitely helped me with playing for England as well.
“To be an England international and a regular at Arsenal takes a lot of hard work but everybody around me has been unbelievable. The club has been unbelievable and hopefully there’s still more to come from me. I just believe that I’ve progressed as a player here and that’s the main thing. I want to be one of the best midfielders around.”

Jordan Nobbs has given us plenty of memorable moments since joining us as a teenager back in 2010.

From scoring in the Continental Cup final to lifting the Women's FA Cup at Wembley, the England midfielder has established herself as a firm fan favourite during her time in north London.

And to celebrate her new contract, our photographer sent over some of his favourite shots of Jordan from the past eight years:
