'I've really enjoyed it... it's a dream'

Emile Smith Rowe has had an unforgettable week.

The boyhood Arsenal fan made back-to-back Premier League appearances, helping us beat Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion to end 2020 with six vital points.

And now he's had a taste for it, Smith Rowe cannot wait for more.

"I've really enjoyed it," he told Arsenal Media. "It's a dream for me to play for this club. I'm so happy and grateful that the manager's shown faith in me and given me the chance. I've just got to keep training hard, and then when I get the opportunity I've got to take it.

"It was a tough game," Smith Rowe added. "Brighton showed a lot of confidence tonight. They didn't play too long ago so it was a really tough game for us, but I feel like it really opened up for us in the second half. We're really happy with the three points and I think we deserved it.

"Mikel told us the game would open up in the second half so we just tried to keep the belief, the confidence and you could see we started to create more chances. Laca got the goal that helped us.

"I think that was his first and second touch as soon as he came on. Bukayo did really well down that side to get the ball into him. We all know how good Laca is, so it's no surprise that he scored there.

"For us, it's just game by game at the moment. We keep trying to improve in training and it's one game at a time. We're not in the best situation at the moment but I feel like we're going to keep building on this and keep pushing forward."
