‘It feels very good to play 90 minutes’

Schnaderbeck

Viktoria Schnaderbeck returned to the starting XI on Thursday night, as we beat Bristol City 7-0 in the Continental League Cup.

The Austria international started at right back and showed no signs of rustiness as she completed 90 minutes for the first time since September.

We spoke to Schnaderbeck after the final whistle - and this is what she said:

on the victory…

I think it was a very good performance and a well-deserved win. We scored a lot of goals, we played a good game and I think we just played very well tonight and it was a professional performance out there. Everyone was supporting each other and that was very important to our success.

on being in the starting XI…

It felt very good to be back out there with the team. I’m so pleased that my hamstring is good after the injury and I enjoyed the game and I took the chance to play 90 minutes.

on building momentum…

We just keep the standards high and keep going and we need to push every single game no matter if it appears easier or harder before the match. It’s important to keep our consistency and look to continue it in each game.

on being strong in all competitions…

I think the main thing is to focus on the next match because if we keep looking at the Champions League in March for example then we won’t be successful in the league and cups. We just need to take every chance we can to get better so we can be strong in all competitions.

on putting her injury behind her…

It feels very good. I know I just need to be fit and then I will be back to playing more regularly and I just wanted to take the chance and the 90 minutes to regain some fitness and confidence.
